LTO Tapes were developed. Accelis form of
LTO Tape was created for fast data access purpose. But performance wise
LTO Ultrium Tape is better than LTO Accelis Tape. So, the standard form-factor of LTO technology goes by the name Ultrium
. LTO Ultrium Tape was
developed to supersede the
DLT Tapes (Digital Linear Tape). The Original version of
LTO Ultrium Tape was released in 2000 with 100 GB of data storage. The
LTO Ultrium Tapes are properly optimized for maintaining good performance and high capacity.
